Local Nonsense Emails

I had a friend forward me an email that they got:

Interesting to read and makes you wonder who gave them the information? It wasn’t anyone who works in the Minnesota no fault system.

Because there are rules and as of yet, I haven’t seen the one time $20,000 bill that wipes out all the coverage, unless it was a hospital and a catastrophic injury. It’s absolutely not correct that a provider can charge whatever they like.

It is true that the no fault system isn’t health insurance or another system like worker’s compensation. But there are a lot of very good reasons why the systems are different, including that no fault is a coverage that the consumer pays for themselves.

The last claim is so broad, it must go to some kind of premium argument that doesn’t really bare out.

It concerns me that this kind of thing is being sent as holding some sort of legitimacy. That well meaning people are activating their grass roots system to actually cut their own protections.

But they are looking out for their interests. And everyone knows the insurance companies will take care of us.
