Bugaboo Recalls Strollers

This past week, The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission and Bugaboo North America Inc., of Hermosa Beach, Calif recalled 22,500 Bugaboo Bee Strollers. One or both sides of the brakes can fail, causing a stroller to unexpectedly roll away on an incline. This can pose a risk of injury to the child occupant. Bugaboo has received 121 reports of the stroller’s brakes failing.

The brewers were sold at Juvenile product retailers nationwide and on various Web sites from August 2007 through April 2009 for about $530. The Bugaboo Bee strollers have item code 580210 on a label on the back of the seat and item code 50100 on a label on the plastic support under the seat. The strollers were sold in blue, dark khaki, pink, red, yellow, and black. “bugaboo® bee” is printed on the left side of the seat. The strollers were made in Taiwan.

Consumers should immediately stop using the recalled strollers and contact Step 2 to receive a set of replacement hangers and instructions. You can contact Bugaboo at (800) 460-2922 between 9 a.m. and 5 p.m. PT Monday through Friday, visit the firm’s Web site at www.bugaboo.com, or email the firm at bugaboobee-service@bugaboo.com.

If you or a family member is injured by a product, you need to get immediate medical care. If there is a significant affect or injury, you should contact an attorney concerning the problem. Early investigation can include the collection of product, checking recall alerts, and the proper notifying of those who caused the problem.

530 dollars seems like quite an expensive stroller to me, and you’d think it would be better quality than some others; but you never know nowadays. Glad to hear about the recall though, before any real tragedies occur with this product. Errors on devices with relation to gravity can definitely cause some serious injuries sometimes.

Yes, you need to get something for that kind of cost. Thanks for taking the time to read and comment.
