Jaloma Pacifiers Recalled By Gromex Inc

In early July, The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission and Gromex Inc., of Passaic, N.J recalled 700 Jaloma Pacifiers. The pacifier mouth guard and the ventilation holes are too small and fail to meet federal safety standards. The pacifier could pose a choking and aspiration hazard to young children..

This pacifier has a ring-shaped handle and a round-shaped mouth guard with two ventilation holes. “Jaloma” is printed on the handle side of the mouth guard and the nipple has a gel-like liquid inside. The pacifiers were made in Mexico.

Consumers should immediately take the recalled pacifiers away from children and contact Gromex for a refund or exchange. For additional information, contact Gromex at (973) 458-9399. CPSC is still interested in receiving incident or injury reports that are either directly related to this product recall or involve a different hazard with the same product. They can be contacted at https://www.cpsc.gov/cgibin/incident.aspx

If you or a family member is injured by a product, you need to get immediate medical care. If there is a significant affect or injury, you should contact an attorney concerning the problem. Early investigation can include the collection of product, checking recall alerts, and the proper notifying of those who caused the problem.

Thanks very much for the recall update. Rather odd that the company was out of spec on a product that is so important as a safety device for babies.
