Polaris Recalls Side-by-Side Recreational Vehicles

The first week of August, The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission and Polaris Industries Inc recalled 3,800 2009 Polaris Ranger “Crew” and “6×6” Side-by-Side Recreational Vehicles. An electrical short can lead to overheating in the rear tail light wiring harnesses, posing a fire hazard to consumers.

The recall involves certain 2009 Polaris Ranger side-by-side, off-road vehicles. The model and serial number identification decal is located under the front seat, on the right-side seat support. The recall includes the models listed below:

Model Numbers Model Name
R09RF68AF Ranger 700 EFI 6×6
R09RF68AR Ranger 700 EFI 6×6
R09WH68AC Ranger 700 EFI Crew
R09WH68AG Ranger 700 EFI Crew
R09WH68AL Ranger 700 EFI Crew
R09WH68AR Ranger 700 EFI Crew
R09WH68AZ Ranger 700 EFI Crew

Polaris dealers sold the vehicles nationwide from December 2008 through July 2009 for about $11,500..

Consumers should immediately stop using the recalled vehicles and contact any Polaris dealer to schedule a free repair. Polaris has notified registered consumers directly about this recall. For additional information, contact (888) 704-5290 or visit the firm’s Web site at www.polarisindustries.com

If you or a family member is injured by a product, you need to get immediate medical care. If there is a significant affect or injury, you should contact an attorney concerning the problem. Early investigation can include the collection of product, checking recall alerts, and the proper notifying of those who caused the problem.

That’s an expensive RV (atv), you’d think they would get it right for something that costly…Been a lot of recalls lately, and you do a good job keeping up on them. Keep up the good work, Mike.
