Looks like we are off to see some answers in the "What is in a Taco Bell taco?" lawsuit. In an action filed by IB members Beasley, Allen, Crow, Methvin, Portis & Miles, P.C., the plaintiffs claim that Taco Bell isn’t providing a beef taco as they advertise. Initial reports are that the plaintiffs conducted tests that showed the tacos actually contained "seasoned beef" that is only about 36 percent meat. That instead the product is a "meat mixture" and really contained ingredients like water, wheat oats, soy lecithin, maltodrextrin, modified corn starch and an anti-dusting agent.

Taco Bell responded with an interesting answer. An advertisement in newspapers across the country that said THANKS FOR SUING US and had the following letter:
Odd to have a defendant welcome a lawsuit. Not sure if they think it will strengthen them in the end or if they are just striking back with their best attack. The letter is interesting because it used 100% only in how they stand behind their product and earlier in the type of inspection that is done. The question really seems to be if 12% is the real amount of secret ingredient and what is "other ingredients" they identify?
I have always been partial to the cheese burritos at Taco Bell , but my boys like plain tacos with just beef and cheese. So I will be watching to see what it is that they are really getting. Personally, I hope it’s what they ordered.

I will never set foot in a Taco Bell again! That's just disgusting. If I want a taco, I'd rather make it at home. In fact, I made tacos last week with what I know is 100% real beef and it did not look or taste as weird as Taco Bell tacos. In fact, my tacos tasted real and fresh. Something you can't get at Taco Hell.

Taco Bell has LOTS of soy in their meat. My sister is alergic to soy and she would have a headache, get red-faced, and her face would swell up a little bit. I am sorry taco bell... but the health of my sister is important to me.
