Should Tour Buses Have Seat Belts?

Comments Off

The Austin, Minnesota tour bus crash, which injured everyone after it rolled over, has many asking the question of whether there are better ways to keep people safe? These types of incidents always involve so many people.

This week there was a tragic bus crash were everyone was involved hurt in Wyoming. There is also the recent example of Miley Cyrus tour bus and the Weezer tour bus crashes. Hopefully, more consideration will be given to adding seat belts to these buses.

Daniel Blower, a research scientist at the University of Michigan Transportation Research Institute, and his team studied 7 years of U.S. bus crash information, from 1999 to 2005. He said their findings show that compared with school or city buses there may be a problem with the drivers tour bus companies hire. Yet another reason to make sure that the passengers be safe and secure.
