Widow Says Delayed MnDOT Project To Blame For Husband's Death

Comments Off

A widow says her husband could be alive today if road construction on Highway 21 had not been delayed.

The man, 32, died in a motorcycle accident when he crashed his bike and died on July 28. He was not wearing a helmet at the time of the accident. They had just gotten married nine days prior to the accident.

The Davis family says that stretch of Highway 21 where Mark crashed is fraught with potholes and is in bad condition. MnDOT says it had planned to begin a $2.5 million rehabilitation project on the road July 7, but the project was put on hold because of delays in getting materials.

MnDOT says it still plans to complete the project.

A memorial fund has been set up at the State Bank of Faribault in Mark W. Davis’ name.
