Four Die in Separate Crashes This Week In Minnesota

Comments Off

In two motor vehicle highway collisions, four people were killed this week:

  • Around midnight on Sunday, two Duluth men were killed when an SUV collided broadside with their car at the intersection of Arrowhead Road and U.S. 53 in Hermantown..

  • Tuesday morning, two people from South Dakota were killed on Hwy. 12 in Big Stone County when their car was hit by a semi.

The death adds to the growing total of highway deaths for 2009. This followed 2008 which was projected to have 450 deaths. A drop from 510 in 2007.

As with any death in a Minnesota motor vehicle collision, there are a number of issues that will need to be reviewed. My partner, Joe Crumley, addressed this topic in a recent article for the Minnesota Lawyers Trial magazine. I was interviewed last year on the same topic. In this case, sorrow for the families of those involved goes out.
