The recent numbers from the Department of Public Safety (DPS) show that Minnesota highway deaths are at a record low. the state’s preliminary death count was 303, compared to 313 at this time last year, the DPS reported. Minnesota is on pace for 405 traffic deaths, fewer than the 421 deaths in 2009. That total was the lowest since 1944.
