Minnesota has done an awesome job of providing bike and walking paths that are easy to use and provide safety for everyone involved. Part of that is the signage. There are two signs of importance that cover pretty much all the rules:

I've written about this sign before. Look at the sign. If there is a person in or entering the crosswalk, Minnesota law requires you to stop. You don't speed by and you don't rant and rave at those who know the law. You don't create the mayhem that my partner, Joe Crumley, has written about.

This sign tells the riders and walkers that the intersection isn't a crosswalk. In this circumstance, they have to yield the right a way to the cars.

The two signs are really all we need. Now hopefully everyone will pay attention and make sure they follow the law.
