Friday morning, a Hasting Bridge collision in Dakota County killed one. The vehicle was traveling northbound on Highway 61 when it lost control and crossed into the southboaund lane. The passenger of the vehicle was killed. Speed and weather conditions are thought to have played a role.
The death is the start of a new total for 2009. This followed 2008 which was projected to have 424 deaths a drop from 510 deaths in 2007.
As with any death in a Minnesota motor vehicle collision, there are a number of issues that will need to be reviewed. In this case, sorrow for the families of those involved goes out.
