I was watching Manchester United recently and wondering about the name on the jersey. Seems that AIG had been having a lot of problems and I wondered how the funding was going for the Premiership Champions.

The country was outraged by the idea. Apparently the issue is back with us again. This time the issue is what are the severance packages that are sitting out there waiting to be plucked. It’s a product of the drive to cap executives that took bail out money to a salary of $500,000. It really is a change for a lot of them. So they are heading out to find new jobs and several million dollars in severance pay.

So I’ll ask the question again:

AIG is now on the government dole in the same way welfare recipients have needed to be. What is the reaction when it’s found that a "welfare cheat" bought cigarettes and alcohol with their relief? My guess is that the best and the brightest were outraged.
