Due to a couple of collisions I-94 was a bad place to be driving Friday night.
– The road eastbound from Clearwater to Monticello was shut down for over three hours. There were over a dozen collisions near the Hasty exit. Instead of heading down I-94 , cars were directed over to county road 75 and found it to be a long wait as they tried to get back on I-94 through Monticello.
– A Eagan woman was killed when she lost control while traveling northbound on I-494 near Bass Lake Road and rolled into the southbound lanes. The woman was thrown from the vehicle and her daughter was injured. The area around Maple Grove was closed for four hours.
Since I travel that road a lot, this week has seen a lot of turned over vehicles. It’s been interesting to see how the highway cables do seem to keep most vehicles on their side. Hopefully, the new year will show us better roads and less of this kind of collisions.
