The St Cloud Dioceses has had two disclosures of list. I have looked at each of those as they came out:
There have also been other lists from other parts of the state.
Diocese of Winona Release Their List of 14 Priests Accused of Sexually Abusing Minors
Archdiocese of St. Paul and Minneapolis Release 9 More Names
St. John’s Abbey Release Their List of 18 Monks and Priests Accused of Sexually Abusing Minors
The Diocese of Duluth Release Their List of 17 Priests Accused of Sexually Abusing Minors
The Diocese of Crookston Release Their List of 6 Priests Accused of Sexually Abusing Minors
Crosiers Release Their List of 19 Priests Credibly Accused of Sexually Abusing Minors
Diocese of New Ulm Release Their List of 4 Priests Accused of Sexually Abusing Minors
Two of those lists, the Archdiocese of Minneapolis and St Paul and the list from the Order of the Crosiers included the name Wendell Mohs. Looking at the Minneapolis and St Paul disclosure is interesting:
Wendell Mohs
Date of birth: 2/18/1952
Date of ordination: 8/21/1974
Mohs’ assignment history:
- Crosier Seminary, Onamia, (Diocese of Saint Cloud) 1974-1980
- Weekend retreat staff, Central Minnesota TEC Program, 1979-1982
- Pastoral Ministry, Epiphany, Coon Rapids, 1980-1982
- Crosier Seminary, Onamia, (Diocese of Saint Cloud) 1982
Which also includes the disclosure :
Current location: Sartell, MN
He worked in the Diocese and he now lives in the Diocese. The name really should be on the list and answers about his actions in the Diocese should be disclosed. Take a look at the Central Minnesota TEC Program:
What is TEC?
TEC is a three-day retreat weekend based on the Paschal Mystery: the death and resurrection of Jesus Christ.
TEC originated as “Teens Encountering Christ” in 1965 as a retreat experience for high school students. There are active TEC centers throughout the United States and foreign countries.
CENTRAL MINNESOTA TEC began in 1978 and is one of several TEC centers in Minnesota. CENTRAL MINNESOTA TEC changed its name to “Together Encountering Christ” to better reflect the presence of both teen and adult participants on the weekends.
Considering the importance of these lists and the absence of all names there are a lot of questions to be answered.
Abuse of children and the continued silence by the offenders needs to be prevented. If you suffered, saw, or suspected such events, it is important to know that there is help out there.
