There are many of us here who have been writing about the issues in and around the health care debate. The lies that are being used to defend the Axis of No. With the Massachusetts election, there are a number of questions about what, if anything will be passed. The issue right now should be where are we without a bill:

First, we see who makes the money. America’s health insurance companies increased their profits by 56 percent in 2009, a year that saw 2.7 million people lose their private coverage. Read that line a couple of times. Yes, the health insurance companies made money. A lot of it. Record amounts. Who else is making money right now? Who’s side are they on in the health care debate? Where does their lobbyist money go?

Second, the numbers of people who are losing health coverage continue to grow every day. The number of unemployed and those who are seeing state funded insurance coverage cut is staying the same or growing each week.

Third, people continue to die because of lack of coverage and medical errors. Those are the people who are at the heart of what needs to be done. The group of no vote, should be asked if this is what they really support. Is profits over people the way it is?

It’s time that this debate got back to what it should be about. The need is way too important.

I got this comment in and email:

It's shocking to me how people seem to refuse to see the connection between insurance company profits and the resistance to health care reform.

The bill may not be perfectly to your liking, but the longer we do nothing the more the insurance companies get their way. They realize that sooner or later people will get bored and move their focus.

I agree, thanks for taking the time to read and comment, there is a issue that just remains under the surface and it's funny that it involves people that love to harp on things "no one is talking about"
