I have been around long enough to remember things before the internet. Back when it was phonebooks and newspaper ads that worked. Thing is no one had time to go around and rip pages out from every publication. So your ad stayed there for a while. Then along came the battle of search words and Google placement. The age of blogs like this one and radio going to podcasts. Makes you wonder what will be next.
I’ve been intrigued as TV commercials have gone from big checks and hammers into facial hair and clothing. I guess humor is the plan now. I never understood why people take legal advice from Uncle Jed any more then silliness. Sure I want that lawyer in the clown shoes next to me in my fight.
We are also seeing national ads. Firms with giant wins somewhere else that are hopping into the state to see if it works here. Thankfully, local state requirements assure that there is a Minnesota Lawyer involved.
The reality is that we aren’t all the same. We also won’t fit with everyone. When you have a injury that affects you and your family or a criminal matter that could change your life , you need the right lawyer with you. Ask them some questions:
1 Will I be working with you or someone else ?
2 Why should I hire you?
3 What is your experience with my kind of case ?
4 What level of communication will we have ?
5. What do you expect of me as a client ?
Get yourself to the right place. If you get upset about something , set up a meeting and get it straightened out. Most of all take care of yourself.
We advertise to get our name out there. But, it all comes down to results. We work for people at very low points in their lives , so happy clients isn’t like if we were selling ice cream. I wonder if there is ad space on the buckets. Haaaaaa
