The recent numbers from the Department of Public Safety (DPS) show that Minnesota highway deaths again at a record low. The state's preliminary death count was 205, compared to 204 in 2011 and 244 in 2010, the DPS reported. Minnesota is again on pace for less than 400 traffic deaths for the year.
Unfortunately, these numbers would be a lot better if it wasn't for the four bicyclist, 29 motorcyclists and 18 pedestrians deaths that were included in the numbers.
