There was excellent news with the final data from the Minnesota Office of Traffic Safety report showing that highway deaths were up across the state in 2012. The increase was 378 traffic fatalities in Minnesota in 2012 compared to 368 in 2011, 411 in 2010, 421 traffic fatalities 2009 and 455 in 2008. This is the lowest number since 1943.
There are still ongoing concerns about rural roads and drunk driving deaths. Both of which have continued to stay high as causes for the deaths. I will be looking at this report over the next week concerning the other items it reveals.
