This time last year there had been four binge drinking deaths of Minnesota college students. Thankfully, this year the number is zero. While there has been no single reason that can be identified for the change, clearly education and awareness has to have played a role.
Last time I wrote about this issue, one of the involved colleges took offense and sent me messages about how other colleges also had the problem. To me, that really isn’t the way to treat the issue. Turning a blind eye or saying that it’s someone else’s problem just doesn’t make it so.
Often on the blogs at Injuryboard, the issues are sad ones. It’s nice to see this news and hopefully it will continue. Death from over drinking simplely shouldn’t ever happen.
