The recent numbers from the Department of Public Safety (DPS) show that Minnesota highway deaths again at a record low. The state’s preliminary death count was 200, compared to 244 at this time last year, the DPS reported. Minnesota is on pace for less than 400 traffic deaths for the year.
Unfortunately, these numbers would be a lot better if it wasn’t for the 43 deaths in July and the 13 in the first week of August. It is of great concern that a 5 week period made up more then a quarter of all the deaths this year.
