Friday night, the long time superintendent of Royalton schools was fatally injured after being in a car accident. John P. Franzoia, was southbound on Highway 15 at Stearns County Road 1 when he was rear-ended. He died at the St Cloud Hospital on Saturday. The investigation is ongoing, but it is suspected that the other driver had been drinking and going to fast.
Having worked for the district since the 80’s, he was involved in the education of hundreds of young people. He was also known for being involved in all of the schools building projects. The loss will be felt by many through out the area.
Sympathy goes out to his family members, friends and all of those he has worked with. As with any death in a Minnesota motor vehicle collision, there are a number of issues that will need to be reviewed.
