In a average year, there are 93 accidents involving Minnesota snow plows. With each snow fall, more than 1,500 MnDOT drivers clear the 12,000 miles of state roadway. As of last week, there have already been 76 accidents involving MnDot snow plows this winter.

As a result, MnDot is reminding all drivers to watch out for snow plows. Sgt. Grabow of the Minnesota State Patrol says the plows are being run into, usually from vehicles trying to pass a plow, and that it’s a problem every winter.

MnDot has asked:

  • Drivers to not use cruise control
  • Stay Clear of Plows
  • Turn On head Lights
  • SLOW DOWN

Accidents involving snow plows can involve very complicated issues. Make sure to talk to a knowledgeable attorney if you or a family member is involved in one. It is important to investigate early and talk to all available witnesses.
