Do you have questions about the Child Victim Act?  There is a lot of information out there.

What is it?   It a window that has  been opened in Minnesota  from May 2013 to May 2016  which allows anyone who was sexually abused as a child in the state to bring a claim.

Is the Act only a Catholic thing?   No,  it doesn’t matter who the pedophile was.  If you were abused you have a claim.     National statistics show that 85% of sexual abusers are inter-family (e.g., an uncle, father, stepfather or family friend, baby sitters, etc.)

Isn’t the claim too old?   No, if you were abused as a minor you have a claim.   There will be a need to prove the case,  but that can be done best by working with professionals and making sure all the right questions are asked and answered.

– Will I be believed?  You will be listened to and have the chance to really be heard.
