The BP oil spill Emergency Payments protocol came out last week. Rep. John Conyers, the Chairman of the House Judiciary Committee had a interesting review in the Huffington Post. The American Association for Justice is also looking not only at the protocol , but also providing information on the principles for the Claims Fund.
For anyone that may be making a claim:
- The deadlines will need to be met.
- A close review should be done of any documents concerning what is being promised and what interests are being released.
- A knowledgeable attorney should be consulted to insure that all of your rights are protected.
I’ve been watching the recent BP commercials about how they are taking full responsibility. I certainly hope that is the case. But, a list of examples so far may suggest otherwise:
