Just like last year, the start of March has been deadly on Minnesota roads. This past couple of days has seen three separate deaths on Minnesota roads:
The Minneapolis Tribune is reporting that:
– A 58-year-old Maplewood man was thrown from his pickup truck after colliding with another pickup in southeastern Minnesota late Saturday night. David. L. Buol died early Sunday, about 90 minutes after the accident, at St. Elizabeth's Medical Center in Wabasha, the Minnesota State Patrol said.

– 11 p.m. on Saturday, Ronald Kapaun, 52, of Hudson, was driving with a relative in his car on Hwy. 6, about five miles north of Crosby, when he collided head-on with a pickup truck.
The pickup truck driver, Russell D. Fort, 67, was pronounced dead at Cuyuna Regional Medical Center in Crosby. The Patrol said it is not known if there was alcohol in Fort's system. But alcohol allegedly was detected, troopers said, in Kapaun and also in his 52-year-old passenger, both of whom were treated for injuries that were not life threatening.

– In Goodhue County, in southeastern Minnesota, there was another fatal accident on Hwy 61 on Saturday. Gregory S. Stanton, 60, of Winnebago, Ill., was killed in a rollover crash reported at 12:39 a.m.
A review of what is know suggests that seat belts, alcohol, and speed at least played a part in some of these tragedies.
Our sympathies go out to all of those involve who were injured or lost. As with any death in a Minnesota motor vehicle collision, there are a number of issues that will need to be reviewed.
