Nice to see true consumer advocates being promoted to positions to protect the public.   The Obama administration announced that Elizabeth Warren will be a special adviser overseeing the creation of a new consumer protection bureau with powers to enforce regulations covering mortgages, credit cards and other financial products.

Is this a good move?

The goal of the position is :   based on the idea that if the playing field is level and consumers know what’s going on, they’ll be able to make better financial decisions.

sounds good

opponents are saying:

"This is like the czar of all czars  and so let’s just talk about process," urges Sen. Bob Corker (R-TN). "The fact is that this person,  the process is being being circumvented because the President knows this person could not be confirmed.  I just find that to be abusive

Interesting attack
