Hunting season is just around the corner. It’s not to early to think about looking into hunter safety classes. The Minnesota Department of Natural Resources provides the regular classes that even the most seasoned hunter can learn from. “Though classes are held throughout the year, we offer more of them in late summer and early fall,” said Capt. Mike Hammer, DNR Enforcement Education Program coordinator. “So now is the time to sign up and complete a course, because once the hunting season gets rolling, it might be too late.”

To find upcoming class or information on the independent study options, go to www.mndnr.gov and click on “Education/safety” or call (651)296-6157 or toll free (888) 646-6367

For all hunters, the Injuryboard members have provided gun safety and hunting tips in the past. For each hunt, it’s important that the supervising adult be vigilant concerning each young hunter, that every hunter be watch out for them self, for everyone to use their gun properly, and be safe.
