There was a little surprise and sadness in the announcement tonight that Minnesota Senator Mee Moua is retiring. There are other friends of the the consumer that are retiring, but they will be going on to the pursuit of other positions in government.
This retirement will lead to who knows? She was the nation’s first Hmong American elected to a state legislature. As both a legislator and as chair of the Senate Judiciary Committee, she was always a strong voice for the regular Minnesotan.
She will be missed.
