My wife introduced me to To Kill A Mockingbird. I have now watched the movie at lease 50 times and read the book about 5 times. The story of the lawyer that anyone would want on their side. The stern Dad who wove pearls of wisdom whether it was in the courtroom or sitting at the dinner table. It’s been fun to read the commentary about the 50th Anniversary:

To Kill A Mockingbird Turns 50 by Brian Tannebaum

‘To Kill A Mockingbird’ Anniversary: On Its 50th Birthday, Why Is ‘To Kill A Mockingbird’ Being Attacked? from Jesse Kornbluth Editor of HeadButler.com

It simply amazing that anyone could attack this movie or the character of Atticus. Seems like there would be phone books worth of people you would attack first. I’m sure it works into the overall "kill all the lawyers" mindset. Thing is Atticus Finch is anything but just any lawyer.

I will continue to enjoy the story and hope that my boys will as they get a little older. It was an introduction that has reminded me of what being a good person and a leader looks like.
