The Minnesota Department of Public Safety took a look at prom driving this week and pointed out that:

Over the last three years, 30 teens died in motor vehicle crashes over the months of April, May and June. Nineteen of those teens, or 63 percent, were not buckled up.

I have written about the topic with:

Prom Night Needs to be Safe, Mike Bryant | April 26, 2012 9:59 AM Prom Not a Time to Drink And Drive, Mike Bryant | May 13, 2011 9:07 AM

The key issues that we need to make sure we talk to all of these young teens about include the need to buckle up, slow down, not text while driving, and don't drink and drive.

I've enjoyed seeing young teens out. They are all all dressed up as they head off to these great events. However, I've also unfortunately represented the families of those who were injured as the result of speeding or stupid events from those nights.

Get home safe.
