Friday morning, I-94 in the eastern metro was shut down after a head on collision. A Ohio driver was killed when his car crossed over the medium and hit a oncoming truck. Two others were severely injured.
Last summer, I wrote about the improvements to I-94 with the medium barriers that were being put in on the western side of the metro. Clearly, these changes have saved lives and injuries, as cars are not making it across to the oncoming traffic.
Hopefully, the expanded use of this safety measure will be reviewed for all highway. Sympathy goes out to the family and friends of all of those involved. The investigation is ongoing as to the cause of loss of control.
