In two separate accidents, Minnesota motorists were killed in collisions with beet trucks. A beet truck with a crane left the road and rolled near Campbell in Wilkin County, just before 6 a.m. Saturday and a Fargo man was killed Friday when the sugar beet truck he was driving collided with a semitrailer truck in Richland County. With harvesting and combining season upon us, there are many more farm implements on the roads.
In looking at these types of accidents the Fargo Forum had the following suggestions:
- Keep the tail lights clean on your vehicles
- Make sure safety symbols are visible
- Make sure all lights are in working order
- For all drivers be extra cautious during harvest season
As with any death in a Minnesota motor vehicle collision, there are a number of issues that will need to be reviewed.
