This week has seen three Minnesotans killed on local highways. Each one is a tragedy and with the overall numbers of Minnesota highway deaths decreasing each should be looked at as preventable:
- Monday in Wright County a eastbound driver on highway 138 was struck and killed hit by a truck crossing county road 12. The reason is still being investigate, but did involved the car crossing after being at a stop sign.
- A Minnesota driver of a sport utility vehicle that was towing a camper trailer collided with a trailer house being towed by a truck as the two traveled side by side on Interstate 94 west of Western North Dakota. The rider was killed. The passing and positioning on the road is being reviewed by the State police.
- A popular Minnesota school teacher who died in a motorcycle crash near Otter Tail moved the county into one of Minnesota’s 13 most deadly counties. They had been off the list for four years.
As with any death in a Minnesota motor vehicle collision, there are a number of issues that will need to be reviewed.
