I know that insurance companies often run national ads, but it bothers me when they run an ad and it makes no sense under Minnesota law. Look at the recent blind spot ad from Allstate:

It has my old buddy Mayhem who is really doing his work to taint jurors and push tort reform. But in this ad he is saying that by having Allstate you are protected if the blind spot collision happens.
Actually, since you would be at fault for the lane change without knowing the other car is there, any Minnesota insurance liability policy would protect you. Now I have addressed a number of times how discount insurance can really mean you are giving up important protections, but seems like the ad should really conform to Minnesota law.
