I’m not sure that the idea of a chip is really about saving money for the consumer. Is it going to be a way to later deny coverage? Will it be turned over as part of discovery after a collision?
It is amazing how many times the items that they sell as being ways to save money may be used after the fact to save the company money. How often do we find out that people really didn’t buy the type of coverage that protects them and their family.
A number of places to check your policy:
– Do you at least have enough Uninsured and Underinsured coverage to make sure you have protection?
– Do you have as much UM/UIM coverage as you have liability?
– If you have multiple cars insured did you stack the No Fault coverage?
Ask your agent. If they can’t explain to you the reasons why these changes protect you and your loved ones for a very small price, you might want to get another agent. I can guarantee you that if you are buying cheap insurance online, you aren’t getting the questions answered for your protection.
