Monday morning, my associate was going into the Benton County courthouse, only to find the lights were out. It was a problem in a lot of the town for most of the morning. The cause was a truck that went off County road 4 a mile west of town and hit a power pole. Due to the impact Xcel Energy employees were forced to shut down the power to 900 customers.
The Driver and his four passengers were all taken to the hospital. The cause is still under investigation, but speed and road conditions are thought to have played a role. The pickup was pulling snowmobiles.
I’ve been blogging about these types of accidents this week. Hopefully, all of those involved will get better soon.
If you are in an accident, make sure to get the names of anyone who indicates they saw what happened. If you witness an accident, check to see if everyone is OK and stay around or at least give the drivers your contact information. If you are injured, seek the advice of an attorney who does that kind of work and who can explain your coverages and rights.
