Sunday night, one person was sent to the hospital after a six car chain-reaction accident on I-94. The incident, which witnesses claim took about one minute, started when a truck lost control and went into the ditch. The truck was hauling reindeer, which then got loose. A second vehicle hit one of the deer and then pulled over to help. That driver got out and was hit by a third car that lost control on the ice. Three other cars than hit each other, as they slowed and veer to miss the other deer and remaining cars. I 94 was closed for a while due to the clean up.

I previously bloggged, along with other Injuryboard members, concerning the issues with winter driving. When there are accidents already present, it is imperative that everyone slow down.

If you are in an accident, make sure to get the names of anyone who indicates they saw what happened. If you witness an accident, check to see if everyone is OK and stay around or at least give the drivers your contact information. If you are injured, seek the advice of an attorney who does that kind of work and who can explain your coverages and rights.
