Early this morning, a bicyclist was struck and killed by a car that drove away. The rider was a 45 year employee of the Minikadha Country Club who rode his bike each morning to work because he had cerebral palsy and couldn’t drive.
The rider was a long time resident of St. Louis Park and was not known to have any previous incidents riding his bike. Police reported that he was wearing a helmet and was hit after 4:15 a.m. on eastbound Excelsior Boulevard near W. 32nd Street.
The St. Louis Park police believe that the car that hit him is a tan vehicle, which may have right-front damage. Anyone with information should contact the St. Louis Park Police.
