Death on Minnesota Roads: Pedestrians Deaths Show A Decrease

Along with the historically low numbers for overall Minnesota highway deaths, the numbers of pedestrians also saw a decrease. In 2010 there were 36 pedestrian deaths in 2010 (a 12 percent decrease) as compared to 41 in 2009 , but still not to the level of 25 in 2008.

Startling in the numbers were the effects of alcohol. 10 of the 36 pedestrians killed had the presence of over .10 of alcohol in their system.
