Several number of times a year, the lawyers here at Bradshaw and Bryant attend conventions. They are most likely either American Association for Justice, Minnesota Justice Association for Justice, or as part of Legal Examiner. Why do we do this?
Basically, it's to get better at what we do. We spend time with other lawyers and discuss problems with cases. We exchange ideas about experts and the best way to present evidence. We talk about the latest defenses and new medical advancements.
It is another reason why you should ask any lawyer that you are hiring to represent you about what organizations they belong to and why. Do they go to these conventions and work on getting better?
We also will teach at the convention. Both Joe Crumley and I have for years been writing articles and presenting seminars to other lawyers about how to deal with cases and issues that come up doing this type of work.
The reality is that this is a job where you always have to keep learning. You need to stay ahead of the growing research and make sure you give each client the type of representation that will get them the best result. We are each better lawyers because we spend this time.

A founding partner with Bradshaw & Bryant, Mike Bryant has always fought to find justice for his clients—knowing that legal troubles, both personal injury and criminal, can be devastating for a family. Voted a Top 40 Personal Injury "Super Lawyer" multiple years, Mr. Bryant has also been voted one of the Top 100 Minnesota "Super Lawyers" four times.
