We see all sorts of tragedies in our office. The worse seem to be sudden and often involve young people. Those that should have had their lives well ahead of them. A reminder of how quick we can no longer have a loved one.
There were a couple of stories that reminded me this past week:
Three members of the University of Minnesota Spirit Squad were killed on the side of the road in Wisconsin. They were changing a tire on I-94 when a drunk driver hit them.
Yesterday, the University of North Dakota’s Hockey Team Bus was rear ended. The bus was on Highway 2 and had to stop for the railroad tracks. The car behind them apparently didn’t stop. Initial reports are that only the driver of the car was significantly injured.
Friday, there was a Onamia school bus left the road and hit trees off of Stevens Road. The driver blacked out and four people were taken to the hospital.
Very different results, but examples of how we have to hope and pray that our children are safe with each trip out onto the roads.
Our sympathies go out to all of those involve who were injured or lost. We hope the lessons concerning drinking and driving will be learned.
