Two drivers were pronounced dead after hitting each other head-on on U.S. Highway 71 in Todd County. One of them was a 16 year old teenager. The cause is still under investigation , but speed seems to be a contributing factor.
As with any death in a Minnesota motor vehicle collision, there are a number of issues that will need to be reviewed. My partner, Joe Crumley, addressed this topic in a recent article for the Minnesota Lawyers Trial magazine. I was interviewed last year on the same topic. In this case, sorrow for the families of those involved goes out.
Families of wrongful death and personal injury victims should seek immediate help and counseling to deal with the shock of loss.
It’s also wise to promptly seek advice from an attorney, however difficult that is at such an emotional time. A lawyer can take some of the burden off the family by helping assure all avenues are addressed.
